AIRLINE HYDRAULICS

Airline Hydraulics is a giant distributor of hydraulic and pneumatic products. With over 200 employees, Airline wanted a site based on a platform that could suit their needs. After trying to leave B2BSeller for a custom solution, Airline came to Triactive Media to plan out the best way to achieve what they wanted.

THEIR GOALS

Airline Hydraulics had a lot of functionality issues with their site. They were having difficulty with speed, caused by the amount of items and item locations on their site. Marketing content and eCommerce content was not meshing together for them, and Airline wanted those to align more. Airline also had issues with support, as they didn't know who to turn to get help. Being a big company themselves, Airline thought they would need the help of a big company in order to get the assistance they needed.


OUR SOLUTIONS

We added dedicated support staff for continued development of Airline's B2BSeller site. To aid in the performance of the site, Airline went to in-house hosting. We were able to purge the items in Airline's site that they were not selling and were not needed. We overhauled Airline's content management to better utilize user defined fields and to get more space for Airline to store their data. In solving Airline's issues, Triactive Media became a strategic partner with the company.

SEARCH RESULTS

BIG PROBLEM, BIG SOLUTIONS

Due to a large breadth of items and locations, baseline functionality was lacking in performance and accuracy. Generic searches returning 50K possible items were taking over 60 seconds to load, and there was little functionality to allow the user to narrow to their particular item requirement.

A search overhaul was implemented using the latest SQL and .NET technologies to achieve faster response times and a more accurate search results. Result page load times decreased to less than 3 seconds. Features were added such as filtering by category, preferred items, and enhanced attributes to all users to confidently locate what they were seeking.

Today, their website has been recognized as "Top In Class" by their customers, vendors and executive teams due to this search overhaul.

REDESIGN RESULTS

Along with the various functionality issues we solved, we also redesigned Airline's site. The redesign not only generally improved the visuals of the site a great deal, but also aided in meshing the marketing and eCommerce sides of Airline, which was an initial issue of theirs.
