Since Shelby needed their mobile view to look perfect, we started with a responsive framework redesign. This framework approach makes sure the site looks great everywhere. Then we went into our plugins and adjusted how some of them work to fit Shelby's needs. More specifically, our freight weight plugin was massively improved.

IMPROVED FREIGHT RATES

TACKLING NEW PROBLEMS

Shelby Wholesale wanted their customers to see how much freight and shipping would cost while checking out, since customers like to see the price of shipping before completing their order. Due to the size and amount of items customers usually buy, items may be boxed and shipped in a way that cause the freight price to be way more than if everything was boxed properly. Shelby wanted a way to make sure the cost of freight was as low as possible.

With UPS integration, we were able to improve the Freight Rates plugin to suit Shelby's needs. Box sizes are loaded within the Freight Rates plugin itself. The plugin then fits as many items into the smallest boxes possible without using oversized boxes, unless there is an oversized item in the order. The plugin also keeps the maximum box weight under a certain amount of pounds, because going over the specified number can increase the shipping price significantly.

THE RESULTS

Shelby Wholesale's new site improves the customer experience with enhanced design and performance. The site now keeps a consistent look on all devices, and plugins like Freight Rates aid in serving the customer and driving more sales.
